Oman releases e-invoicing legislation

On August 9, 2026, resolution no. 189/2026 was released, amending the Value Added Tax Law with provisions relating to electronic invoicing.

The Oman Tax Authority launches the Fawtara accreditation portal

The Oman Tax Authority (OTA) has officially launched the first release of the Fawtara Portal, enabling service providers to apply for accreditation.

OpenPeppol has approved the application from the Oman Tax Authority (OTA) to become a Peppol Authority.

-August 2026: 100 large VAT-registered companies

-April 2027: Taxpayers with annual revenue exceeding 5 million OMR

-October 2027: Taxpayers with annual revenue not exceeding 5 million OMR

-February 2028: Government institutions and entities

Not required

Archiving Period:

– Movable property: 10 years

– Immovable property: 15 years

Archiving Abroad:
